Once you have registered the death, CIBC World Markets will inform you of all the documentation they will need to close the account and transfer any remaining funds.

What Happens Next?

Once notified, CIBC World Markets will freeze any sole accounts or transfer joint accounts into the name of the surviving account holder. If they require further information, they will contact you at a convenient time.
