What information is required to tell Vanguard of a bereavement?

You will need to have the following information to hand when telling Vanguard of a death:

  • The full name, address and date of birth of the deceased
  • The policy number(s)
  • Their date of death
  • If you know of a Will
  • Who has been named as the executor and their contact details – don’t forget, if this isn’t you, that you will need to receive their permission to be able to pass on their details
  • Any next of kin, and their details – again, if this isn’t you, that you will need to receive their permission to be able to pass on their details

Once notified, Vanguard will talk you through what the next steps are, and if they require any further information.
