What you need

The deceased’s:
  • Date of Death
  • Full name and usual address
  • Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
From you:
  • A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)

How to Register a Death with Bristol Water

You can tell Bristol Water of a death in one of the following ways:

What information will you need to report a death to Bristol Water?

You will need to have the following information to hand when telling Bristol Water of a death:

  • details of the deceased including their address and the date of their death
  • customer number (if available)
  • whether the property was owned or rented
  • a recent water meter reading if property was metered (if available)
  • the name, address and telephone number of the person or executor who is legally looking after the affairs of the deceased
  • whether water is still required at the property

After you have notified Bristol Water, if they require any additional information, they will contact you at a time convenient for you
